HOW DOES THE SCHOOL ASSIST WITH RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS?

At this time, our institution does not offer direct assistance with residency applications due to the fact that we are a recently established school. While we are committed to providing students with a strong educational foundation, the process of applying for medical residencies, including preparation and application support, is typically managed through external organizations and entities.

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL'S POLICY ON ABSENTEEISM DURING CLINICAL ROTATIONS?

Attendance during clinical rotations is a crucial aspect of our educational programs, and we have established policies to ensure that students fulfill their clinical responsibilities. Absenteeism during clinical rotations may impact a student’s progress and performance. While specific policies can vary by program and clinical site, we typically expect students to attend clinical rotations regularly and punctually. It is essential to review and adhere to the attendance policy provided by your program, clinical site, or course instructor. Excessive absences without valid reasons may lead to academic and clinical repercussions. If you have specific questions about the absenteeism policy for clinical rotations in your program, please consult your program coordinator, clinical education team, or clinical site supervisor for guidance and information on attendance expectations. Our commitment is to prepare students for successful careers, and regular attendance during clinical rotations is a vital part of achieving this goal.

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL'S POLICY ON STUDENT PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT?

Our institution is committed to supporting students in achieving their academic and professional goals. We have a policy in place to help students improve their performance if they encounter challenges. This policy typically includes academic advising, access to tutoring and academic support services, and opportunities to make up missed coursework or assessments. We encourage open communication between students, faculty, and academic advisors to address concerns and develop strategies for improvement. The specific details of our performance improvement policy may vary by program, so we recommend referring to your program handbook or consulting with your academic advisor to understand the resources and procedures available to support your academic progress. Our goal is to help students succeed and overcome challenges they may face during their academic journey.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR APPEALING ACADEMIC DECISIONS?

Our institution maintains a clear and structured procedure for appealing academic decisions. If a student encounters an academic matter they wish to challenge, the process typically involves initiating an informal discussion with the faculty member or instructor involved to seek an informal resolution. If the issue remains unresolved, the student may proceed with a formal appeal by submitting a written appeal to the academic department or program coordinator. This written appeal should provide a detailed account of the issue, supporting evidence, and the desired outcome. An Academic Review Committee, comprising faculty members and academic administrators, will review the appeal and render a decision. The student will be
promptly notified of the committee’s decision, and if the appeal is granted, appropriate measures will be taken to address the concern. While these are the general steps, it is essential to refer to your program-specific guidelines for precise details on the appeals process, ensuring that students have a fair and equitable means to address academic decisions. For inquiries or guidance on the appeals process, students can contact their academic advisor or academic affairs department for support.

If you are interested in hands-on surgical experience, we recommend consulting with your program coordinator, clinical education team, or faculty members to learn more about the specific opportunities available within your program. We are dedicated to helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed to pursue successful careers in surgical disciplines.
